Kiwi and Cantaloupe Chutney with Indian Flavors

When I made the Ridgegourd Peel-Barley-Moong Dosa , we had the Kiwi-Cantaloupe Chutney as a side/dip for the dosas. It tasted very delicious and we enjoyed this in combination with the dosa. This was the first time I made this chutney and sure would make it again.

Let us see how this chutney is made---------------

Main Ingredients :
----------------------
Ripe Kiwi Fruit...............2
Cantaloupe.....................1cup
Green Chillies.................1

Seasoning Ingredients :
----------------------------
Canola Oil...........................2tsp
Garlic Cloves.......................2
Cumin Seeds.......................1/2tsp
Mustard Seeds....................1/2tsp
Chana Daal.........................1tsp
Urad Daal...........................1tsp
Red Chilly...........................1
Asafoetida...........................pinch
Curry Leaves.......................few
Paprika Powder...................1/2tsp
Salt......................................to taste

Preparation :
-----------------
Take peeled ripe kiwi and cantaloupe with chilly in the blender jar and blend it till smooth.

Add fresh garlic and blend it till smooth and transfer the kiwi-cantaloupe chutney to a bowl.Add salt .

Now place a pan on the stove on medium high heat and add oil.Once it heats up add all the seasoning ingredients except salt and wait till the seasoning is done and switch off the stove. Now add paprika to the hot seasoning.

Transfer the seasoning to the bowl of chutney and mix well so that the flavors of the seasoning blend in with the chutney.

Delicious Kiwi and Cantaloupe Chutney is ready to be served as a dip for dosas or rotis. Can also be used as a spread on toast.

Note :
-----------
1) I would make this chutney again except that next time I will not use very ripe cantaloupe.Instead I would use the firm and just ready to eat cantaloupe for this chutney.(If very ripe it gives too much sweetness to the dish).
